Pray for Donald Trump!
The word ‘for’ does mean ‘in support of’. But what factors represent authentic support? Yes-men, genuflectors and sycophants are often the surest path to one’s downfall. The truth supports us all – that is the rock of reality.
And that’s what the Spirit told a prophet (who shall remain unnamed in this piece) whose gift I can vouch for. She has a very disciplined and meticulous relationship with Spirit (attested to by her reflexive response to internal impressions – having successfully avoided, in the presence of witnesses, otherwise inevitable car accidents by suddenly and apparently inexplicably braking on a green light, and then immediately speeding off as soon as it turned red in response to the sole impulse of an urgent voice within. Only after obedience did she recognize she had successfully averted two accidents which would surely have been caused by out of control vehicles colliding with her actual position, had she obeyed the laws of man over the inner instructions of the Spirit).
“Pray for Donald Trump!” She had asked Spirit the question in the year preceding the Trump election. “How should I pray?” not wanting to presume. The answer jarred her. Not that she had any particular political leanings. Being Canadian, I found her unusually disconnected from the US presidential race that was taking up so much oxygen everywhere else. She came to me with her cluelessness the first time the Spirit referenced the GOP in one of their conversations. She had no idea what a GOP was.
But even she could not avoid the noisy turbulence and bravado of this former Casino Mogul and his intemperate and abrasive public expressions. More inclined to be a Hillary fan….and in one of their conversations she asked the Spirit about Hillary and she was told that she would make a good president (not a great one). But she could not assume from that the mind of the Spirit with regards to how to pray before the upcoming US elections. The answer was odd, but being a careful intercessor, she was not given to questioning instructions but obeying them, no matter how many red lights went off.
“Pray for Donald Trump.” was the Spirit’s instruction. But how should she pray and what should she pray was now her earnest request. The instruction was a mystery. A mystery she pursued for several weeks before an answer came. “Pray for all the truth to be revealed about him”.
Thus she did, and the Lord’s answers came speedily following that, as usual in vision form long before being distilled into space-time. Those answers were recorded and can be viewed here.
But even as the answers unfold, I continue to marvel at the peculiar interest revealed in the prophetic perspective. Politics, on the national level, is all about conflicting group interests, each particular group claiming the Lord / God / Justice / Truth to be ‘on their side’. Each assumes their god to have a position on immigration, same sex marriage, abortion, war, communism or any subject in particular that impacts the destiny of the group whether seen through the eyes of protagonist or detractor.
As one whose two key interests are the internal politics of religion and the necessary interface between the domains of religion and governance structures and processes in society, the truth claims involved in Jesus’ governmental prayer, bequeathed the church:
“The kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven”
are for me elemental areas of focus. I point out in the prophecy series and in the last two chapters of my autobiographical work Natural Mystic, how keen the sensitivity must be for issues involving the sovereign will of the people and the sovereign will of God.
Those who perceive their God to be a tyrant will ultimately manifest consonant values and attitudes both in policy and practice. Those whose perceptions of God, or God image, tends more towards Facilitator in chief than Exalted Dictator, will also manifest corollary values and attitudes in their politics and inter personal relationships.
It is interesting for me to note the respectful posture with which Nathan engages David in the Old Testament story, a theological precept both for modern prophetic protocol as well as for the functional interface between powers human and divine. Elevated in that discourse is the supreme value for truth, reason and courage (notably the antithesis of the blind servile obedience and contemptuous control that both an unhealthy religion and politics promote). The former produces reconciliation – of both man and God, the latter, a necessary and permanent division and divisiveness that makes control the permanent prerogative of one over another….even if that one be an almighty god.)
Also equally of import, is the notion of TRUTH and its value or hindrance to the political (and the religious I might add……. and right along with the religious, the related enterprises of education and science). That is another very worthwhile conversation to have.
