He said if it was up to him, Chauvin (what a prophetic name), the white culprit would be quickly thrown into jail, always heavily populated with black men, so that they should ‘deal with him accordinngly’. (Well Pat, nice to hear your conscience kicking in; never mind falling short of the ‘turn the other cheek’ flaccid Christianity generally sold to conquered peoples. You never subscribed to that and at least you are consistent in your Petrine zeal to put sword to your enemies. We remember you calling for Chavez’ assassination and regime change in Venezuela. At least now your sword is being put to proper use – Justice not conquest.)
General ‘Mad Dog ‘Mattis, once Trump’s darling, says that Trump is the first president that doesn’t even pretend to try to unite the American people and is a threat to the constitution. I come from Jamaica and never quite understood how someone can barely win an election….. by a hair’s breadth, and act from day one as if his mandate from the people was overwhelming and that he had won in a landslide. He has pretended that his base is representative of America….and his base has fallen under the same delusion. When Jamaican Prime Ministers have won elections by razor slim margins, they have governed in the spirit of conciliation and consultation, recognizing that the people spoke, and their voice and vote was interpreted as giving the winning party a warning not an affirmation. Trump however is into impunity, not unity. And now he has insurrection on his hands.
Obama, the real president for the majority of Americans (yes my Republican friends, he was the landslide candidate, with both electoral college and popular vote. The majority of Americans have mourned his absence from the very first day of the Trump presidency…or rather from the day after the last election) has broken his silence to protect the embattled constitution. (Yes, to sic the US millitary against people legitimately exercising their first amendment rights is the straw that broke the camel’s back in Trump’s continuous constitutional assault). It took Obama to do the presidential thing….listen to the voice of the people and provide wise leadership.
The Trumped up spell bound American people seem to be waking up. There may yet be a distant future where those seminally revered Jamaican values may flourish in America – Justice and Truth. Although the latter seems to have been all but slaughtered by this administration…..(not that presidential spin has not always been normative, but only under this administration has the lie been so perfected that neither liar nor lied to seem to be aware of the difference between fact and fabrication, making the truth of no consequence); and as for the former, well the only people with standing in America to recognize muchless declare or decide on matters of justice in America, are Black or Native American. What a thing America, you need a Black man to remind you who you are.
Or if not, well decide then, if Trump is the real embodiment of America, as her detractors have always thought, then burning and looting is the only appropriate impulse, (even the Scriptures proclaim that the wicked along with all liars will burn in hell). Whether the instrument be Al Quaida or Antifa, China or Russia, or Farakhan’s space ship….actually nobody loves America right now and her ‘greatness’ has been tarnished not restored under Trump……Do yourselves a favor America, ditch your ‘president’. But the choice is yours to make.
