Measuring and Marking

Ezekiel 9

As morally questionable as is the whole idea of seeking to subvert the electoral processes of a fraternal government, its agencies or interested parties be they religious, corporate or political; and overturn or influence its results, by whatever means natural or spiritual, and by what ever agency, internal or external, its not the idea itself of seeking to interfere /intervene / influence an outcome per se that is particularly jarring as much as how exactly one purports to execute the intent. That would indicate the degree to which honor is an issue in one’s value system and how and to whom it is directed … or not. It is always useful to know exactly who one’s ‘pigs’ and ‘pearls’ are in determining how to engage.

The phenomenon itself of whether predicting or pre-determining national elections is not controversial at all to me, familiar as I am with several precedents of such. Generally speaking however, such activities were tastefully executed in clandestine.

Neither am I necessarily focusing on witchcraft. Privacy is perfect both for intimacy and intimidation. There are many ways to influence outcomes and sway human opinions. It is one’s motive and method that reveals their morality, not necessarily their action or even intent.

The striking things to me in the Trumpian approach to power are the following:

His ‘pigs’ are people, specifically those who oppose him personally. There is no discernible principle that offends him. Ephesians 6 is lost on Trumpians. The wrestling is with flesh and blood, specifically whatever flesh and blood should stand in Trump’s way. He has no honor but for those who adore and obey him.

With every effort made to be fair in representation. Trump’s pearls seem to be limited to Trump himself. He clearly understands self love more than most, but that love has not appeared to extend too far beyond himself – maybe to his family …. but then conditionally on acquiescence to his expectations.

Trump agents – legal, spiritual, political, financial, all bear the stamp of impetuousness rather than grace in their motive and method. Measure the man. Measure the movement. A self willed, obstinate, imperious force.

Only the wicked believe that God’s judgments are unfair – because they object to the measure of all fairness – that one should always be prepared to receive the same measure they have meted out.
