Mine eyes have seen the Glory

May the refreshing of joy, the renewal of hope, and the invitation to peace that is associated with every celebration of Christ (Missa Christus or Christ Mass) be your portion in this season.

One of the attendant features of Theophany is an increase in the phenomenon of dreams and visions. This is certainly true of the story of Jesus’ birth – everyone close to the epiphany was having them: Mary, Joseph, Elizabeth, Zachariah the Magi; as well as the story of the Pentecostal descent of the Holy Spirit as events recorded in the book of Acts attests and Peter’s appraisal of ‘This is that’ connecting the Upper Room to Joel’s prophecy suggests.

As David said, ‘the entrance of thy word bringeth light’. The manifestation of God who is always present in his Word opens the eyes of the human spirit. Wherever God is there is light and life.- people begin to see. Consequentially, where God is unmanifest, people walk in darkness.

If you are receiving this, it is because you are invited to join the Caribbean Christian Leadership Network in an exercise of prayerful exit of the present year and prayerful anticipation of the years to come titled “Give us vision lest we perish.” This coming Saturday morning, December 28th 2024, appropriately at the crack of dawn, 6:30 AM by zoom. The ritual celebration of Christ’s Parousia/Presence/Coming (Christmas) Is not merely commemorative but invocational. It is a maranatha – a prayerful anticipation and expectation akin to the posture of the 40 day pre Pentecost wait of Jesus’ disciples. Regardless of the promise, someone must travail for Light to prevail. It was the light of heavenly vision which made the difference in the life of Joseph the dreamer and Paul the schemer. For a person, nation or generation to prevail, they must dream a dream, they must have a vision.

Join us on Saturday as we seek to stir up Hannah’s tears and prayers for our Caribbean Civilization.
