President Donald Trump is a thug. That is no revelation to the American people. Michael Brown says it best. “We knew what we were getting when we voted Trump.” The fact is Republicans needed a miracle to hold on to their rapidly diminishing hold on power in America and they were praying for one. If the only qualifying answer was an unconscionable thug and serial liar, so be it.
I get it.
But I despise thugs, and although disposed to remain quiet while family makes up its mind, I can no more remain silent. No one should try to paint me with their Democrat/Republican brush. I’m not even American, (Thank God) and increasingly my only interest in the State is to see it either fall or repent to the Glory of my God, whose name is Truth and Justice, and who America is in open defiance against.
Neither will I waste time by trying to prove what is plain to all. Those who are deceived are self-deceived by choice. They worship a thug-God who threatens with hellfire his enemies who will not bow. Their God concept resonates with the easy-to-anger Yahweh of old. So let that God now answer them with truth and justice.
I recall one prophet who claimed to receive messages about the American church. The informing Voice referred to her as “My deceived church”. Most western Christians have neither sufficiently developed theology nor spirituality to judge angels, so I’m making no definitive remarks here, beyond how interesting I found those messages (from a pure vessel – a non American with no personal interests nor knowledge of the subjects received….and had to consult Wikipedia to find out what the acronym GOP meant.)
Even though my anger is aroused, let me be still and let God be glorified. Being fair-minded, I do get it. Abortion and gay rights for the right is the ‘abomination that maketh desolate’. Any means justify the end of wresting back control and continuing to have cultural agency.
The ideal of Democracy only has merit when it is ‘our’ democracy. If the people choose against ‘our’ values (even if we become a minority), rather than internalize responsibility for losing agency ……for losing salt and light influence, the blame is externalized towards the ‘enemies of God’….and as the church has done with whole civilizations it has demonized then ‘righteously’ exterminated, God damn His enemies to hell.
Brother Pat Robertson had no internal conflict in publicly advocating for the assassination of Hugo Chavez (the Venezuelan people’s favorite) literally right before making an altar call announcing to the peoples of the world (including Venezuelans whom he had no problem violating) how much God loves them and Jesus will forgive men their sins.
Is it a wonder then that Pat’s God should anoint a thug who will build a wall….and Mexico will pay for it….to the thunderous Amens and Hallelujahs of ‘My deceived church’?
It wont help to be as belligerent as the crowd I despise for their twisted conception of Power and Authority, (and for the record, I despise not the people, who I love and war with my words for, but the thinking in them that produces unmitigated pain and suffering for the innocent, whether they be from foreign lands, foreign cultures or foreign values.) Christians, of all people, should know better than bullying people around in the name of God. The God that Christ revealed in scripture glorified service as the ultimate power. Service, not thuggery. Blessed be the poor in spirit.
USA, you may have to start again at the bottom if your stiffneck doesn’t allow you to swallow that.
