“Do not assume that I have come to bring peace to the earth; I have not come to bring peace, but a sword.” Matth10:34
Judgement – If you don’t have it, you will get it …. eventually. That’s no cockamamie statement of perennial optimism. What is meant is if you refuse to learn judgment, it will eventually be administered to you. Judgment / measurement / balance is the foundation of the Universe and all that’s in it. The Judeo Christian scripture puts it this way: Judgment and justice are the foundation of Yahweh’s throne. Psalm 89:14. The ancient Egyptians said it this way: The earth is Maat. The sky is Maat. We rise in Maat. We are in fact Maat. Maat, that aspect of Being dealing with measurement, with Mathematics…or have you ever wondered why the basic mathematical sentence / statement is called an equation? And the sacred sign required to state most any mathematical truth is = (the equal sign)?
The dimension opened up by this capacity of consciousness is ORDER / LOGIC / LOGOS. The Logos that is the foundation of the Universe, without Whom nothing that was made would be made. Not every word is connected to the WORD. The scripture teaches about vain words, empty of meaning, disconnected with truth, false, misleading, deceiving. Those most abominated by unnatural intercourse generally have no idea of the filthy abomination of a lie to the Divine mind. There is a reason that all liars are condemned to hell and have no access to paradise. The highest abomination is the liar whose deed, left unchecked, subverts the pillar of Being – Truth and the Justice which depends on it.
\The curse upon those who breach the laws of reproduction and preservation of life is barrenness. But the curse upon the liar is much more weighty. Those who choose barrenness rather than life curse themselves only. But the lie is pandemic. Like leaven, it devastates the entire population, unless judgement produces the antidote (not vaccine…there is no redemptive inoculation against lying) The pus must be exposed. The wound bound up. Only then can health be restored. A lie was the cause of the fall of humanity in the Genesis allegory. Whether using the language of science, history or religion, there is no light that can come from the abyss. The logos/light is to creation what the lie/occlusion/ deception is to Chaos.
We begin with this polemic precisely because of the subversion of language. There is that kind of exegesis that rather than revealing, conceals the truth. Jesus puts it this way in Math 6:23
If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!
He is referring to that capacity of consciousness directly linked with creativity and Creator. The eye of judgment. That third sight which allows for sound judgment. And when that eyesight is poor, the whole body is flooded with darkness (chaos) according to Jesus. A curse is associated with this state.
Isaiah 5:20
Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who turn darkness to light and light to darkness, who replace bitter with sweet and sweet with bitter.
That might be considered severe… to curse ignorance, which by necessity is a human condition, to whatever degree. But the consequence of poor judgment is what is severe. Therefore God sets human society in dependent relationships to allow grace rather than evil to prevail.
To the church He said, You are the Light of the World. He said as long as He was in the world He was the light of the world, but once he went to His Father, guess who got the baton? One must consider the responsibility of that burden… To be like Hobab the Midianite – ‘eyes in the wilderness’ for the flock of God. Without the prophetic eye of judgment, the church has no capacity to fulfill its job description. That’s why it is fitting, once good judgement leaves the church, once its salt and light are spent, to discard it and trod it under foot as a thing of no value or purpose…because that is what it has become.
Mankind will have to make do with what light it may gather from science or history. The whole earth is filled with the Glory of God – there is no need for an Abrahamic seed that has lost touch with its original purpose. The whole creation ‘night after night uttereth speech and day after day uttereth wisdom’. Who is the Israel of God should he wax fat in the earth like Jeshurun and rebelliously kick? The answer is – nothing at all. Lo Ammi and Ichabod are eternal (cycular/habitual) judgments against those who assume positions by heritage rather than character/qualification.
Now touching on Pat Robertson, Dutch Sheets, the church in America …. whenever the church has ‘gone dark’, that has been an omen of human regression.
Do you not know that we shall judge angels? How much more, things that pertain to this life?
Well tell now and show …..have there been serious errors of judgment, or is Jesus testing the faith of the committed? The dividing line between faith and folly is invisible to the arrogant. The zealots who roused themselves against the Roman army in AD 70 were shouting in the wind like Samson of old that God was on their side, they would prevail. Hobart Freeman was as much an authentic Faith teacher and miracle worker as was Smith Wigglesworth. One did not end well. And many of the ‘heroes’ of the faith movement ended disastrously (though …. unlike with pioneer, Brother Hobart, the covering sheet of grace was applied posthumously to their closing chapters)
Much more than legacy is at stake here, but light itself…and the blessings of the light. When societies fall into the abyss, (or when they rise like the phoenix from the ashes) look at leadership. You will see where the people are headed.
Another excellent piece, my brother… equilibrium is also an affiliate of judgment, measurement and balance. Reading and applying your ideas to the current state of affairs surrounding the mistaken prophets and the US election results, brought the words of Psalm 82 to mind, in particular, verse five “They do not know, nor do they understand; They walk about in darkness; All the foundations of the earth are unstable (in disequilibrium)”. You’re spot on. Judgment looms… it rectifies imbalance and restores equilibrium.
“Arise, O God, judge the earth; For You shall inherit all nations” (Psalm 82:8).
