I trust I have been sufficiently merciless this year in dealing with the twin issues of race and religion because the time is now come for settlement. The jury has been out far too long in the church. If they wont make up their minds, they are dispensable. There are times when God himself rends the heaven to come down and deal with matters first hand.
Filled with fury and bearing a cup of wrath boiling over, the intercessor or prophet trying to stand in His way will be first to partake of it. There comes a time when the grapes are ripe and it is simply time to thrust in the sickle and reap.
Such a time is this. Thirty years ago the late Dr. Fred Price did a series at his church which was televised on Race, Religion and Racism. I was aware of it then but took it in only peripherally. Only recently have I been able to examine some salacious soundbytes then highlighted in the full context of their delivery, which leads the fairminded to a distinct conclusion. One can hear the heart of God (Justice, Truth, Righteousness…for some reason people have trivialized these awesome Divine names to bedroom protocol having reduced the Almighty to some form of sex police … with similiar biases, prejudices and double standards as the earthly security forces to which we have become accustomed) in the probing questions fired across the room grown silent with the gravitas of generations of secrets burst open suddenly.
Those who tried to trivialize the heavenly and earthly watchers of this spectacle and stylize the rantings as regular preacher beef – Fred Price was calling out Kenneth Hagin Jr for using his pulpit to advocate against inter-racial marriage, listen through hearts waxed cold and jaundiced. Only the tender hearted understand true justice, which is as light as a feather.
Those familiar with the history of Pentecostalism know how deeply (if subtly) racism features in its history, even before the Azusa outpouring or the Branham years. The fact is American history in every department is riddled with racism, not just its religion, and America, perhaps with the sole exception of Israel, has become the most racist place on earth, and the volcano has been bubbling up again, ready for another eruption.
There comes a time when if you ‘get another bligh’, it will only make matters worse. So it’s time to trod the grapes and make sweet wine. There comes that time that the cup you have meted to others you are made to drink down to the dregs. And any who seek to intervene are only intent upon perverting and delaying justice. Those who attempt only qualify themselves to be first to taste the quality of the wine.
